In different parts of the area, such as the one we are now in, small stands of Scots pine appear. These are very well-defined areas, generally with high tree density and with trees of very similar characteristics, despite being the result of old reforestations subsidized in the 1980s. These initiatives aimed to reforest agricultural land, but in many cases the activity was carried out merely to receive the financial compensation, so these small pine groves were left without any type of forestry planning or management.
Even so, they represent an interesting area that adds uniqueness and allows a new community to establish itself in this environment. Here, for example, we can find large birds of prey nesting in the pine canopies, as well as various forest bird and mammal species.
