At the end of the route, we come across this stand of stone pines that stands out above the rest of the tree vegetation. These are tall, large trees that were exploited for pine nut harvesting until just about 20 years ago, but today they suffer from neglect, with some specimens deteriorated and with broken branches.
In any case, it is a unique feature that differs from the surrounding environment and adds special characteristics that enrich this final section of the route. Many bird species find resources here, but it is worth highlighting the presence of nests of booted eagles, a medium-sized raptor that, after spending the harshest months of the year thousands of kilometers away in sub-Saharan Africa, returns periodically to our territory to nest and raise its chicks, feeding them with the abundant prey found in this area.
