In this section, where we are walking through the highest part of the route, geology takes center stage. We are surrounded by rocky outcrops that reveal the geological history of the area. These formations have been shaped by the action of wind, rain, ice, and temperature changes over millennia, creating peculiar structures that stand out in the landscape.
Here we find granite more fractured and cracked than in other parts of the area. This is due to its greater exposure to erosive processes, as it is the highest point and has no protection from the wind.
This environment is an excellent refuge for many birds, but also reptiles, which find a suitable place here to shelter and protect themselves from larger predators that cannot access the cracks and crevices in the rocks. If we remain calm and respectful, we may observe these animals basking in the sun or keeping watch from the top of the outcrops.
