This ecosystem arises as a result of the modification of the environment after years of livestock exploitation. It is characterized by the interspersed presence of open areas intended for pasture production alongside other plots where old crops appear, generally abandoned, although in small extensions and in the most favorable areas in terms of water availability, we can still find plots dedicated to agriculture.
In this area where we stand, we observe how these plots are separated by dry-stone walls and other infrastructures related to livestock use. These walls are particularly interesting, as they host different species that thrive here, especially reptiles and insects, although some birds and mammals are also able to make use of these structures.
